Flint Creek, spanning 1,900 acres total, offers fun for the entire family. The park features a 650-acre lake that’s perfect for fishing and boating. The lake is home to bass, bream, crappie and catfish. Aluminum boat rentals are available, and even landlubbers can enjoy the reservoir too, with 13 miles of shoreline, picnic areas, nature trails, primitive camping sites and cabins.

Ashe Lake Recreation Area was originally built to provide water for Ashe Nursery. The eight-acre lake is shallow, with the deepest area reaching about 15 feet deep. Visitors may catch bass, bluegill and catfish. Facilities are 100 percent handicap accessible, feature an 18-hole big day and nine-hole ADA approved Frisbee golf course, picnic tables, pavilion and a fishing pier. For those looking to explore the area even further, Black Creek Hiking Trail is nearby.

This recreation site lies beside a seven-acre lake at the southern end of the Tuxachanie National Recreation Hiking Trail. It is an abandoned World War II German Prisoner of War Camp and Navy rifle range: even the old ammunition bunkers are still present. This rustic area provides primitive camping, hiking and fishing for bass, bream, white perch and catfish.

Fairley Bridge Landing serves as the end point for both the Black Creek float trip and the Black Creek hiking trail. Equipped with a boat ramp, tent camping areas, picnic tables, public restrooms and plenty of nature to observe and explore, Fairley Bridge Landing is a great spot to go on a Saturday fishing trip or to hunker down for a casual weekend camping excursion.
