Thousands of visitors and Stone County residents will gather at Blaylock Park in Wiggins, Mississippi, on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26, for the annual Pine Hill Festival. This cherished event unites the community to celebrate the rich heritage and vibrant culture of Stone County. As one of the oldest and most significant festivals in South Mississippi, it has grown to become the largest single event in the county.
The origins of the Pine Hill Festival have deep ties to the history of Wiggins. Following a devastating fire in 1910 that destroyed much of the business district, the Pine Hill area emerged as the new hub of commerce. What started as Pine Hill Day in 1981 has now blossomed into the Pine Hill Festival we know and love –– a vibrant celebration that draws visitors while showcasing local art, crafts and traditions.
From the beginning, the festival aimed to showcase the creative spirit found throughout South Mississippi. Today, it continues this mission by providing talented craftspeople and artists with a supportive platform to display and sell their work. Attendees can explore a variety of booths featuring fine art, handcrafted items and unique collectibles. The festival hosts more than a hundred exhibitors, each contributing to a rich tapestry of artistic expression.
Food enthusiasts, young and old, will find plenty to savor at the festival. With a dozen or so food booths offering a diverse range of specialty foods, from traditional Southern dishes to modern culinary creations, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The festival also welcomes Mrs. Mississippi America 2025, Wiggins native Jamie Davis Howe, who will perform the national anthem on Friday, and regional musicians to the stage.
There’s more to enjoy at the Pine Hill Festival than just live music, delicious food and local vendors. Dog lovers won’t want to miss the Stone County SPCA’s 15th Annual Mutt Strut, happening Saturday, April 26 at 2 PM in Blaylock Park. It’s the perfect opportunity to support a great cause while enjoying a fun-filled afternoon of wagging tails and community spirit. Families are also encouraged to stop by the kids booth, hosted by Mississippi LIFT, a nonprofit organization through MSU Extension that provides access to educational resources, referral support and family engagement activities.
